Our Little Cutie

Hello Everyone,

Here are some of the latest pics of our sweetie. The ones outside were taken today. We took a trip to one of the most beautiful parks/libraries in town. (Upper Arlington Library 5 minutes away from us!) They have many different trees, sprawled on 48 acres of beautiful land with an AWESOME trail. We also were able to get some books out. Corey has been really getting on me to teach her Spanish- so a couple of Spanish/English books were checked out today. Needless to say I think this may be a daily trip to go for a walk! Hope you enjoy!

Latest Update on the Garris family

Hello Everyone,

I know that it has been quite a while since my last update- but so much has happened! We had a wonderful visit from family in Nebraska (Grandma and Grandpa Garris along with Aunt Mae Mae)- as you can see from previous shots that I posted. We got spoiled, and spoiled, and then spoiled some more...we feel so incredibly blessed...realy blessed. They threw me a surprise 30th birthday party, and took us all out to our favorite eating spot...CHILI's (for those of you that don't know :))Ava has begun to do some more cute tricks...she now officially "rolls" to where she wants to go. She thinks she is hot stuff! It's quite funny to see her do it. I am going to attempt to post some video footage of it :)...but I have tried and failed many a time. We also got a slammin new camera from Grandma and Grandpa Garris for our 5 year anniversary gift. It is really nice, and has provided the new shots that I posted. I have also been given the wonderful opportuniy to provide some additional income for our family from home! Pray that all the details would work out and that it would be approved! I so miss loving on people on a daily basis and helping out those in need- and this new job would allow me to do it from the comfort of my own home! I am also going to be helping out with weddings here and there at the church throughout the summer to supplement our income as well. The first wedding comes next week. Corey continues to do his job wonderfully- he is such an incredible servant. Work was a little crazy for him for quite sometime, but it has started to plateau a little. Mother's day was amazing. Ava got me some beautiful flowers,(with a little help from her Dad of course, and I got some really great smelling candles.)

We have been praying about our future and what it would hold for us...Many questions loom in front of us. Where do we live? Should we stay in our apartment? Will we be in Columbus for 3 more years? If so, do we purchase a home? Our Sentra is looking like it needs repair, do we get a new car? We really don't have many answers right now. We have no idea when and where he would lead us. We made a trip to Cleveland On May 2nd to see about possibly church planting there...it was a good trip- but we both had no real direct sense if "Cleveland" would be the place for us. We both were comforted and felt like the Lord was speaking to us through the passage in Hebrews 11:8, which talks about faith- REAL faith. It says "By faith Abraham when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going..." We are certain that the Lord will lead us in His timing, and in a way that will build and stretch our faith. I hope you enjoy the latest- I will attempt to post more pics later when Ava isn't as crazy as she has been grunting at me for the past 10 minutes...her way of saying, "Mommy pay attention to MEEEEE!" Oh Lord, give me patience! Bless you all!

Hot Days in Columbus, OH

Hello Everyone,

The update here is pretty much the same. It seems as though Ava's tooth is really starting to bother her more and more. Baby Tylenol may be a good stock to invest in because of us :)...She is now a power eater- and has two meals a day...she gets a little testy if you don't get her cereal finished on time....once she sees the box she's flailing around with excitment. We have been going for strolls around our neighborhood as it has been sunny and HOT (yesterday 80 degrees!) We pass a wonderful man on a wheelchair with his nurse everyday. His name is Mike, and he adores Ava...(although he thinks her name is Avon and that he is a boy :)...BUT he still adores her) I believe that he has a bit of a hearing problem. She loves to play in her Exersaucer, and is getting chunkier and chunkier as my sore arms can attest to. We were at Target yesterday and I got her going in one of her giggle fits. Everyone commented on how cute she was- and she put a ton of smiles on people's faces. She is certainly living up to her name...Ava Joy. I am praying that this will be a part of her ministry one day. We are eagerly expecting the arrival of Grandma and Grandpa Garris soon as they will be coming in to town this week late Friday. We all can't wait! Enjoy the latest shots...I think you could just box her up as a doll in my opinion!

6 Months Old...

Hello Everyone,

I am officially 30, and Ava is officially 6 months old. She went to the doctor yesterday and everything looks great! The doctor was pleased at the progress she has made, and said she is growing beautifully. She is still a peanut in the weight department- but a giant in the height department. (Hmmmm...I wonder where she gets those genes from? :)) She has started fruits, and is still unsure about them. I am hoping she warms up to them soon. She has been sleeping a whole LOT better...as she actually slept all night on April 2 for the first time (although her father and I didn't get much sleep!), and has since only woken up once a night...which I can handle- since I actually go to bed fairly early with her. So I feel like she has made tremendous strides! WOW! The weather has started to get nice around here...sun is shining, and the flowers are all a bloom...One of my favorite seasons as God is turning everything that was dead from the winter back to life...the way he does with us. Enjoy the latest shots...

Sitting up for the first time...

Hello Everyone,

Here is Ava's first time sitting up- she continues to amaze us with how fast she is growing...As you can see from the one shot she only made it for a couple of seconds...but it was long enough to count it in the "baby book"...she goes in for her 6 month check up next week, and will get yet another round of immunizations. Corey will be in Houston,TX from the 9th-11th next week- so Ava and I will once again be flying solo...I will also be turning the big 3-0 on Friday...I feel kind of old just saying it...Time goes by too quickly! I have not really been looking forward to it as I feel like being twenty-something was so much fun...but I guess with age comes wisdom...Sleeping still going a little crazy...but better than it once was or even could be. Abuelo & Abuela Colon will be coming this weekend to see Ava...and the plan is for Corey and I to finally get some time alone...pray that it goes well! Enjoy the latest!
