Can we say that it has indeed been a hot summer! YIKES! Ava and I have spent most of our time indoors, as the heat is enough to make anyone dehydrated! We have met up with friends at the mall. (Corey has now started to call us mall rats)...She continues to amaze us with how she is growing and learning new things. She now officially knows how to wave hi and bye, can clap, dance, kiss, and stand without support for up to 10 seconds. We have tried to capture some of these new tricks but have thus far been unsuccessful. She seems to clam up when the camera is on her...too distracted I guess- which is interesting because she does seem to have a flare for the dramatic.

Corey and I will be celerbating our 5th year wedding anniversary this weekend. We can't believe that it has already been 5 years! Time certainly does fly by. Abuelo and Abuela Colon will be coming in to town this weekend, and Abuela will have an extended stay followed by a trip to Cleveland for us. We are excited once again to explore the city and see what may be in store. I will try to post more pcis soon. The pics I had of Aunt Mae Mae and Ava weren't the greatest upon further review...although Ava misses her...She actually looked for her the next day on the couch...Enjoy the latest- She is Grandpa Garris's Biker Babe. :)

Ava see, Ava Do

Hello Everyone,

So I joke around a lot that Ava gets a lot of her bad habits from her father ...She learned how to throw her tray on the floor and won't stop doing it from him (by accident of course...), she learned how to be restless at night from her Dad (also from her Dad), and she also is very persistent and won't give up easily (also from her Dad...ok maybe that's from me:))....Of course I know that she has been given so much more from her father...a heart of compassion, a joyful spirit, a passion for the things that she does, and a sense of humor thar no one can deny....she is truly a joy...We are amazed at all that she is doing so far, and are so excited to see her grow.

The update here is pretty much the same. I was unable to get the job at the church like we had planned on. Unfortunately they re-vamped the position, and I was unable to qualify for it. God was gracious though in affirming to us that He has and will continue to provide for all of our needs. We truly lack nothing.

We are eagerly awaiting going on vacation with our good friends Paul, Kelly and Jordan (Ava' s future husband, or so we hope) and Grandma and Grandpa Garris in August. We will be going to Branson, MO. We are also headed to Minnesota in December....SO MUCH to look forward to! Enjoy the latest cute shots from Ava. She like to play with her Daddy in the mornings! I will be sure to try and post new pics soon- as Aunt Meggan payed us an unexpected visit from Nebraska! SO FUN!
