Time flies by...

Hello Everyone,

I don't think it is a lie to say that the cold snow days here in Columbus, OH have turned every mother in town into depressed women. I think that if we took some kind of poll to see the status of mother's hearts we would see that most of us are trying to figure out how to chase away these winter "blues"....BUT the good news is: THE DAYS ARE getting LONGEEEEERRRRR! YES! A sign of spring to come! My girlfriend Kelly and I are looking forward to Zoo days to come! (Thanks again Grandma & Grandpa!) BTW- if you are a stay at home mom and want to accompany the Garris ladies to the zoo...we got a sweet pass...please let us welcome you to come along! Ava has loved the snow- she would stay out there all day if we let her! Maybe she will be a winter olympian? She certainly has the legs for it.

We have tried to begin the process of really trying to potty train Ava...It has not gone well. I try not to get discouraged. We currently have an M & M dispenser, tubs of play dough, books, cookies, and stickers as rewards...NONE have helped...I have started in the last couple of days to take away her most prized possession.....drumroll please.....TV...ouch! I don't know if I am trying to motivate her, or kill me! HA! We'll see if we start to see any results...She has never been allowed to watch more than an hour of TV a day, so it is a treat for her...if anybody else has any other grand ideas- please enlighten me! I have tried it all! She goes pee every now and then...but has zero consistency, and does not like to be pushed to do anything! I tried taking her every hour- to get only tantrum after tantrum. Ugh! I have been reminded that I am a control freak, and try to control everything. Her bodily functions...are unfortunately out of my control. She is so smart! She has begun trying to color within lines, and loves to paint pictures for Daddy. One of her favorite passtimes lately is coloring with mommy...and I treasure my time with her...I am daily reminded of how big she is, and how quickly (and some days slowly) she has grown.

Rylee is a delight. She and Ava have the BEST smiles I have ever seen! She has begun with some regularity in the past two weeks to have all night sleeping...last night 7:30- 7 a.m....YES! She also for the first time today took an hour and half long nap on her own! Ava and I celebrated by doing a little dance, and reading a million books. Ava loves the time we get together alone as a result of Rylee's new schedule of 3 naps a day...Ava entertains Rylee and Rylee is SUPER tickled by everything that Ava does...she laughs often at the silly faces and things that Ava does. I love seeing the two of them daily.

Things at Sawmill are really coming along...The community of believers that has gathered, in addition to all the people that volunteer day in and day out is going so well...Corey and I have felt so blessed in the last couple of weeks. Corey blessed me the other day when a couple of the ladies and I went out to breakfast. It was "Daddy Day Care" here. LOVE IT! He then bought me a massage for Valentines Day that I gladly redeemed on Monday of this week...He knows how to treat his lady! :) Really truly, I am one blessed woman! I have tried to post some of the latest shots, and pics. This past weekend Rylee got dedicated to the Lord, and unfortunately the camera stayed in the Pastor's pocket...so we have two pictures of her in her dress at home...SO SAD! I know what it feels like to be kid number 2...and now I have a greater understanding! Sorry Mom & Dad for giving you both grief! Enjoy the latest!

Love,
Cyndia (of course) for Corey, Ava, and Rylee
