Update in 09...

Hello Everyone,

So I know that it has been a while since my last post, BUT much has happened since my last post. The Garris family has survived a vicious battle with the flu that knocked out all three of us and unfortunately put me in the emergency room to get medical help. If I had to relive the expereince of the past week- it will be way too soon...It started with Ava, went to me, and attacked Corey ...we are still slowly recovering. Today was the first day that any of us had any real food other than crackers, ginger ale, and soup...In the midst of our sickness our washing machine decided to take a turn for the worse...(very in-opportune time to stop working!)...You can imagine what that meant for soiled sheets and clothes throughout the house...of course I will spare you the rest of the details. Luckily for us, we have some incredible friends that took me to the hospital, nursed us back to health, and washed all of our soiled laundry...the Ewanow family is a true blessing from the Lord to us...

This all after returning from the longest road trip of all of our lives...as we logged over 2,000+ miles on our trek to Minnesota and Nebraska to spend with friends and family. We enjoyed every minute...and were so sad to leave wherever we went. Much laughter, and much kindness was shown throughout our trip. The weather was perfect, the FOOD WAS AMAZING...and Ava bonded and loved on all of her family the entire time. She had some serious withdrawl returning home and settling back into a routine. She even yelled "Ga-Pa" the first day back into our home...looking for her Grandpa to play with...too cute...and so sweet. She can kiss like a champ now...smacking sounds and all. Titi Lisa taught her how to...and she has since thrown them out to everyone as she shows affection often. I am going to be attemtping to post some of the shots we took by trip, as well as some video footage...so please feel free to take your time...there is much to see and enjoy...(Of course I know that many of you that will take the time to see the videos, etc. must really love us! HA!)

God was faithful to us the entire trip...There are many things that we will miss in no particular order- and non-inclusive:
1. Ava kissing Titi Lissy...
2. Gabe and Ava screaming throughout the house playing...
3. Corey and Gabe kung-fu fighting (while Gabe was naked as a j-bird)
4. Grandma and Grandpa Garris having a ball downstairs in the basement playing.
5. Aunt Mae Mae and Ava on the carousal...(as Ava looked perturbed...)
6. Eating incredible food and gaining 5 pounds...
7. Spending time with old friends, and friends we never get to see...(Thanks Kampmann's for the perfect stay in Iowa!)
8. Getting lots of cool presents...and thoughtful presents.
9. Eating Valentino's pizza (A Corey fav)
10. Watching the Cornhusker's win in the home state of Nebraska (something Corey never gets to see in Ohio..)

Much Love,
Cyndia for Corey and Ava
